To a man, Cardinals receivers expressed their support, congratulations and well wishes to former teammate Marvin Harrison Jr. on Thursday, Oct. 15, following practice.
Harrison was traded to the Houston Texans over the past weekend.
"It's been tough," wide receiver Kendrick Bourne said. "I freakin' love Marv. He's such a good person ... and player, man.
"His whole story and how it went down is just unfortunate, but the (wide receiver) room has been solid, though. We've got to keep going and just move on. We don't have a choice. But I'm happy for him."
Bourne said the Cardinals did a good job of sending Harrison to a situation where he could thrive. He will miss his friend but pledged to keep in contact with Harrison and "check on him."
Wide receivers
Simi Fehoko and Reggie Virgil have lockers near each other in the Cardinals team room at their facility. They said they have to keep working hard and fighting to keep the position group together.
"I just always appreciated how he came to work," Fehoko said. "It was always the same. He was always working hard.
"Good, bad, ugly, it was all the same. I'd like to imitate that as I go forward."
Virgil praised Harrison for being the same person every day, and for putting in extra work on a Juggs machine and in taking care of his body.
Fehoko wished Harrison good luck via text message. Virgil said he talks "to my guy Marv all the time."
Wide receiver Jalen Brooks said Harrison was part of the brotherhood of Cardinals pass catchers, and that Harrison texted the entire position group to wish them good luck.
"We lost one, but we also know that the thing will keep on going," Brooks said. "The league keeps on going each and every day. It's not going to stop just because of one person.
"The league is pretty connected. You'll end up seeing people later on down the road and everything like that."
Brooks said the thing he took from watching Harrison's game is how calm he looks when running top speed.
