Simone Cuccurullo, a "Good Morning Arizona" anchor for Arizona's Family in Phoenix, is leaving the stations.
Cuccurullo announced her exit in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
"This week is my last at azfamily 3TV CBS 5," she said in the post. "I came here three years ago with just a dog and a dream. In 3 years, I’ve had some incredible opportunities. I’m beyond grateful for both the personal and professional growth, and the incredible people I’ve met along the way."
Arizona’s Family is comprised of Channels 3 and 5, both owned by Atlanta-based Gray Television.
Cuccurullo also thanked viewers.
Cuccurullo declined to say what her next move is
"A HUGE shout out to the viewers who embraced me, especially on social media," she said. "Every kind note, comment, and message at 4am has really been what’s
kept me going and has truly meant the world to me."
Cuccurullo came to Arizona's Family stations three years ago, from Richmond, Virginia. She had also worked in Fort Myers, Florida, and Erie, Pennsylvania.
Cuccurullo told The Arizona Republic that she couldn't yet reveal her next move, including whether it would be in journalism. (She actually said, "No comment," in about the nicest way it's possible to say it.)
But she did say in her Facebook post that there would be a next move. "As for what’s next… well, you know what they say in the biz!" she posted. "Stay tuned!"
Cuccurullo's last day on "Good Morning Arizona" will be Tuesday, Sept. 8.
