Kyler Murray officially closed the door on his time in Arizona by selling his $13.75 million Paradise Valley mansion in late September.
His departure has left the Arizona Cardinals facing a glaring reality, highlighted by a viral statistic: Murray has already won four games in his brief time as a starter for the undefeated Minnesota Vikings this season (including the season opener when he was concussed on the first series), more than the total number of games the Cardinals have won with every other starting quarterback combined since Murray tore his ACL in 2022.
Wins are not solely a quarterback stat. But in that span, the Cardinals have a dismal 3-28 record without him. Joshua Dobbs beat the Dallas Cowboys, 28-16, in Week 3 of the 2023 season.
Jacoby Brissett beat the Cowboys, 27-17, in November 2025, and the Los Angeles Chargers, 26-14, in Week 1 this season.
Murray, meanwhile, is beginning to revitalize his career under Kevin O’Connell.
Murray has completed 68.3% of his passes and just orchestrated a masterclass last week in a 23-13 victory against the New Orleans Saints. He completed 24 of 30 pass attempts for 229 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 51 yards on 10 carries. He became the first quarterback in franchise history to record 200-plus passing yards, 50-plus rushing yards and an 80% or better completion rate in a single game.
The Vikings (5-0) have a Week 6 bye. They are among three franchises that remain undefeated, along with the San Francisco 49ers (5-0) and Kansas City Chiefs (4-0).
On the flip side, three teams are off to a miserable 0-5 start: the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans and Miami Dolphins, giving them the early inside track to the No. 1 pick in the draft.
Five teams have just a single victory: the Houston Texans, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Saints and Cardinals, all of whom are 1-4, alongside the Washington Commanders, who have a 1-3-1 record.
Other top stories on the NFL radar in Week 6:
Eagles late collapses, tailspin
The Philadelphia Eagles are facing intense scrutiny after dropping three straight games. They’ve suffered late-game collapses in consecutive weeks against the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars. Questions are mounting over Jalen Hurts’ lack of rushing. Head coach Nick Sirianni faces a must-win situation against the Carolina Panthers.
Jim Harbaugh’s winless Chargers
The Chargers continue to search for answers. Justin Herbert has looked uncharacteristically lost, having thrown seven interceptions and committed six fumbles through five games. They’re gearing up for a trip to face Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs, coming off a bye week.
Caleb Williams’ projected return for Bears
The Chicago Bears hope to jump-start their passing game with the projected return of quarterback Caleb Williams from injury at the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, Oct. 18. His return comes at a critical time for the Bears, after a blowout loss to the Green Bay Packers. Every team in the NFC North has a winning record.
Drake Maye and the surging Patriots
The New England Patriots dropped 45 points and 536 yards to the Las Vegas Raiders last week, as Drake Maye continues to emerge from a brutal slump to start the season. Maye has thrown seven touchdowns and just one interception over consecutive dominant offensive performances and looks to keep rolling against the New York Jets.
