Longtime Valley resident and filmmaker Mark Bork is releasing a romantic comedy film called "Underneath the Glittery Moon," which features 30 Scottsdale actors.
Not only does the film feature Scottsdale actors, but its executive producers Marilyn and James Dean, Jim and Tami Paxton, and Jason and Paige Vickers are all locals as well. Plus the film was shot all across the Valley, but primarily in Scottsdale.
The film is a romantic comedy that follows three couples — spanning ages 30 to 70 — at a community theatre show, both in the spotlight and behind the curtain.
“My intention with this film was to create a real community by bringing together local writers, actors, and crew who share a love for cinema. To create an uplifting story while offering
a platform for both amateur and seasoned professionals alike. And when I say community, I mean Scottsdale specifically. I've lived and worked here most of my adult life, and honestly, I think it's the 8th Wonder of the World," said Bork in a news release.
"Underneath the Glittery Moon" also supports several nonprofit organizations including GiGi's Playhouse located in north Scottsdale. GiGi's Playhouse is a nonprofit with a mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome and a painting that's featured in the film will be auctioned off at the premier with the proceeds benefitting GiGi's Playhouse.
