The Phoenix Suns waive second-year guard Koby Brea and big CJ Huntley, the team announced on Monday, Oct. 19, right before NBA teams must finalize their roster going into the 2026-27 season.
The deadline is 2 p.m. Phoenix time on Oct. 19. Brea and Huntley were both on two-way deals.
Last season, the Suns waived Huntley, who was on a two-way player, and had him play for their G League team, the Valley Suns. They then put the 6-11 big back on a two-way late in the 2025-26 regular season. The Suns also are placing recent addition Duop Reath on a two-way contract. The backup big was a training camp invite.
Undrafted out of Appalachian State, Huntley only played four games last season for the Phoenix Suns, scoring a total of 12 points.
Brea was considered
one of best collegiate shooters coming out of the 2025 draft. He spent most of last season with the Valley Suns.
The 6-5 guard averaged 3.8 points in just 12 games for the Phoenix Suns last season.
