The owner of a Washington-based homebuilder, a designer and pharmaceutical, technology and insurance executives were among the buyers and sellers of the priciest metro Phoenix houses to close during the week ended Sept. 9.
All of the week’s most expensive houses are in Scottsdale. It's unusual for a Paradise Valley house sale not to rank in the weekly Top 5 because it's Arizona's priciest community. Scottsdale is the second most expensive community in the Valley.
Also, prices for the top sales were lower than usual. Three of the top sales were priced below $4 million, something that has rarely happened during the past few years.
$7.5 million: Homebuilder founder buys in Arcadia
Kevin and Nicki Wann purchased a 6,149-square-foot home on the Scottsdale side of the Arcadia neighborhood. He’s the founder
of Pacific Lifestyle Homes, a homebuilder based in Vancouver, Washington. The house has five bedrooms, 5 ½ bathrooms, two kitchens, retractable doors, views of Camelback Mountain and a guesthouse with a separate garage.
Karen and Vince Ippolito sold it. She’s the founder of Karen Ippolito Design. He’s the executive chairman of Botanix Pharma. The home was listed by Christopher Karas of Compass.
$5.55 million: Insurance executive lands Mirabel home
Kirk and Kathleen Leadbetter bought a 6,469-square-foot house in north Scottsdale’s Mirabel community. He’s an executive with the Anchorage-based insurance firm Marsh & McLennan Agency.
The house comes with four bedrooms, 6 ½ bathrooms, golf course views, a media room and bathrooms next to the pool. Ronald Crone of Crone Wealth Management was the seller.
$3.9 million: Connecticut buyer purchases in Desert Mountain
Jason Gartner of Ridgefield, Connecticut, purchased a 5,106-square-foot house with four bedrooms and 3 ½ bathrooms in north Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain community.
The house also has a floor-to-ceiling glass wall, a waterfall-edge kitchen island, microcement floors, three indoor stone fireplaces and an outdoor kitchen near the pool. Real estate agent Jean Michel Edery sold it.
$3.9 million: LLC acquires 10-acre Scottsdale estate
An LLC called The Heights Ranch purchased a 7,359-square-foot north Scottsdale estate with six bedrooms and six bathrooms.
The home is located on 10 acres and has a private well, an office, a walk-in wine cellar, two laundry rooms and a barn with a two-bedroom apartment. Windstone Trail LLC was the seller.
$3.55 million: Former Cisco executive buys in Whisper Rock
Laura and Brian Marlier paid cash for a 4,002-square-foot house in north Scottsdale’s Whisper Rock community. He’s a technology executive who worked at Cisco Systems for a few decades.
The house has four bedrooms, 4 ½ bathrooms, walls of stacking glass, a built-in outdoor barbecue, firepit and water feature. The Snickers Trust, led by Richard and Stephanie Reese, were the sellers.
