A man died after he was found stabbed outside a Phoenix restaurant, according to police.
Officers went to the restaurant, near 24th Avenue and Thomas Road, for the stabbing around 11:51 p.m. on Aug. 15, according to Phoenix Police Department advisory.
The man, later identified as 29-year-old Lonnie Shepherd Jr., was found lying on the ground outside the restaurant with at least one wound, according to the advisory.
Shepherd Jr. was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Preliminary information from detectives indicated a suspect and Shepherd were involved in an alteration near the restaurant which ended in the stabbing, the advisory stated. Police did not release details about a suspect.
