The Arizona Cardinals' Week 3 Friday injury report is out, and cornerback Garrett Williams is not on it.

That means Williams will play for the Cardinals in their Week 3 matchup at the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Sept. 27. It would be Williams' first game since the Cardinals' Week 16 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons last season, where he tore his Achilles. The team is 1-3 without him since then.
Before that four-game stretch, he had also missed five games from Weeks 3 through 7 that year. They did not win a single game in that stretch, after
winning the first two Weeks of the season with Williams on the field. All three of the Cardinals' wins last year came with Williams on the field.
Even if Williams has rust to shake off against the 49ers, the Cardinals need all the healthy bodies they can get in the cornerback room. Starting cornerback Will Johnson will not be playing due to a neck injury.
Williams has been a starter in each of his first three seasons in the NFL. He enters his fourth season with experience having success both on the outside and as a slot corner, which brings flexibility to a group of cornerbacks not at full health.
The Cardinals rank 26th out of 32 teams in most pass yards allowed per pass (8.4). The 49ers rank tied for third in the NFL this year in most pass yards gained per pass (8.8). Williams' injury has been costly, and the Cardinals need all options on deck with a tough matchup.
