Art Garfunkel will not be taking the stage as planned on Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the historic Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix for one of his What A Wonderful World Concerts.
The venue shared the news on social media on the day of the show, citing “unforeseen travel restrictions.”
In a recent interview with The Guardian, a U.K. publication, the 84-year-old folk-pop legend who rose to fame on the strength of such Simon & Garfunkel classics as “The Sound of Silence,” “Mrs. Robinson” and “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” said he’s been “singing much more than I have done in two decades” lately.

The Celebrity Theatre post said the venue was working on rescheduling the concert and would notify ticketholders as soon as an update is available, asking fans to hold onto
their tickets until a new date is announced, at which point “you will be notified immediately.”

The venue added, “We apologize for any inconvenience, we wanted to see Art just as badly as you did.”
