Cava is opening its first location in Goodyear in the civic center area.
Maricopa County Animal Care and Control is building a new enclosed facility in Glendale to expand the region’s access.
In Peoria, HonorHealth is building a new medical clinic at the Trailhead development.

New restaurant coming to Goodyear downtown
Cava's first location in Goodyear is underway along Bullard Avenue and McDowell Road.
The restaurant offers salads, bowls and pitas. The other West Valley site is in Avondale, more than 6 miles away.
The build is part of Goodyear's downtown GSQ development, which is being co-developed by Phoenix-based RED Development
and Scottsdale-based Globe Corp.
Cava is expected to open in 2026.

In Glendale, new animal shelter going up
A 94,000-square-foot animal care campusis underway along Glen Harbor Boulevard and Northern Avenue in Glendale.
The facility will provide shelter services, veterinary care, spay and neutering, licensing, volunteer and foster opportunities and more, according to the department.
It will have more than 600 kennels and 18 play yards, low-stimulation housing for shy and fearful dogs, a grooming room and photo studio for portraits, a natural walking path along the New River, a "mutt-ternity" ward for dogs found with puppies and a multi-purpose room for events and meetings.
Construction broke ground in June and is expected to be finished in May 2028.
HonorHealth medical center in Peoria
A 7,000-square-foot medical clinicis coming to a rapidly developing area near 83rd Avenue and Happy Valley Road in Peoria.
HonorHealth will have a primary care clinic at The Trailhead development in the city. It will sit east of the restaurant, Flower Child.
It will have 12 exam rooms and, at full capacity, six clinicians and 14 medical office assistants, according to spokesperson Bill Baer.
It’s expected to be finished at the end of 2026.
