An overnight lane restriction will not be the only weekend obstacle in the way for Arizona drivers hitting the road, as heavy street traffic could affect travel times in some cities as well.
The national "No Kings" protests will be on full display across the Valley on Oct. 17. Organizers say 47 demonstrations were planned in Arizona, according to a map on the Mobilize website. Drivers in metro Phoenix could see heavy foot traffic in some cities, such as Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Chandler and Tempe, among others.
In a weekend travel advisory, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced that schedules for freeway and lane improvement projects are subject to change due to weather or other factors.
