Big 12 football Week 7 predictions
Cincinnati at West Virginia, 9 a.m., TNT (stream with Sling)
This game could be the most competitive of the week in the Big 12. It at least opened with the smallest point spread, with West Virginia as a 1.5-point
favorite. The Mountaineers are looking for their first conference win this season. Rich Rodriguez will get it in a shootout.
Prediction: West Virginia 38, Cincinnati 35
Kansas at Kansas State, 9 a.m., FS1 (stream with FUBO)
Both the Jayhawks and the Wildcats are a disappointing 0-2 in conference play. We have to give the edge to the home team in this rivalry matchup. Avery Johnson and Kansas State will bounce back from their loss to Houston to win their first Big 12 game of the season.
Prediction: Kansas State 27, Kansas 24
Arizona State at Texas Tech, 12:30 p.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)
Arizona State beat Texas Tech in Tempe last season, 26-22. You can bet the Red Raiders remember. Will Hammond will outduel Cutter Boley as Texas Tech moves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12.
Prediction: Texas Tech 30, Arizona State 20
TCU at Baylor, 4 p.m., FS1 (stream with FUBO)
Baylor is one of five Big 12 teams without a loss entering Week 7's games. DJ Lagway and the Bears will cement their status as a conference dark horse title contender with a win over the Horned Frogs.
Prediction: Baylor 31, TCU 23
Notre Dame at BYU, 4:30 p.m., ABC (stream with FUBO)
BYU opened as a 10-point underdog at home against Notre Dame. Talk about disrespect. The Cougars' fan base will be up for this one, as will BYU's aggressive defense, but the Fighting Irish will escape Provo, Utah, with a win in a thriller.
Prediction: Notre Dame 27, BYU 23
Oklahoma State at Houston, 4:30 p.m., FOX (stream with FUBO)
Oklahoma State has won four straight since its season-opening debacle against Tulsa. The upset over Oregon has lost some of its luster for the Cowboys, but Drew Mestemaker and company can spring another upset over the Cougars in Houston to move to 3-0 in Big 12 play.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 35, Houston 31
Utah at Colorado, 7:15 p.m., ESPN or ESPN2 (stream with FUBO)
Utah is a perfect 5-0 on the season, with early hopes of a Big 12 title. The Buffaloes won't be able to dash those hopes. Devon Dampier and the Utes will roll to a win in Boulder, Colorado.
Prediction: Utah 33, Colorado 17
