Former Arizona State football standout Cam Skattebo made a statement, even before kickoff for his New York Giants game, and then electrified the home crowd during New York's first offensive possession.
Rolling up to the stadium, Skattebo wore the high school jersey of his teammate (and, he said, "best friend" on the team), Jaxson Dart, before the Week 1 pregame festivities began.
Complementing the jersey, Skattebo wore shorts.
Skattebo, as always, has the appreciation of the Giants fan base and his dad, Leo.
Pregame vibes 🏈❤️ Hard to put into words how proud I am of you, Cam. I’ve watched the work, the sacrifice, the setbacks, and the determination it took to get here. No matter what happens tonight, I’m proud to be your dad. Go be you and enjoy
every second of it. Love you, son.… pic.twitter.com/tVe6OwUaKB

And, if you thought Skattebo would avoid his dynamic, flip-centric end zone celebrations this season, in the wake of his gruesome, season-ending injury in 2025, well, he didn't.
The Sun Devils icon, who helped lead ASU to the College Football Playoff in 2024, scored New York's first touchdown on a 3-yard run in the first quarter.
The game, NBC's "Sunday Night Football" edition, guarantees Skattebo an ever-widening audience.

Announcers Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth spend a few minutes talking about the "crazy" aspect of Skattebo and Dart.
Skattebo finished the first quarter with 16 yards on four carries. Dart ran twice for 23 yards, and the Giants held a 7-0 lead.
