A semitruck driver parked at a Chewy fulfillment center in Goodyear was found dead after a welfare check, according to police.
Around 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 7, officers responded to a warehouse near 143rd Avenue and Yuma Road after the business had tried to contact the driver who was parked on their premises but got no response, according to spokesperson Sgt. Mayra Reeson.
Officers found the driver unresponsive, and the Goodyear Fire Department pronounced him dead, Reeson said. There were no signs of foul play.
It's not known who the man worked for, but Chewy spokesperson Joanna Hass confirmed he was not an employee.
The investigation into the man's death was ongoing, Reeson said.
