Four people were injured and one person was detained by police following a shooting on Sept. 22 in northwest Mesa.
Officers found the injured persons, three men and one woman, around 6 p.m. in an area near West McKellips Road and North Center Street, according to Sgt. Kyler Newby, a Mesa Police Department spokesperson.
They were taken to hospitals with unknown injuries, and all are receiving medical care, Newby said. Their conditions are unknown.
Police did not identify or provide any information about the person who was detained.
The crime scene remained active as of 8 p.m., and preliminary information indicated the shooting was an isolated incident, according to Newby.
Police asked the public to avoid the area while officers continue the investigation.
