A child died after a golf cart carrying four people rolled over on a residential property in New River, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office.
The crash happened just after 11 p.m. Aug. 29 near New River and Saddle Mountain roads, Detective Dave Evans, spokesperson for the Sheriff's Office, said.
Three children were seated on the golf cart's bench seat while a family member operated it, according to Evans.
One of the children died from their injuries, Evans said.
Evans identified the children only as minors and said their ages were not immediately available, because the investigation was ongoing.
The Sheriff's Office did not immediately provide information about what caused the golf cart to roll over.
The crash happened in New River, which
is just north of Phoenix.
