From classic vanilla and chocolate-topped conchas to creative modern twists, we asked readers to vote on who makes the best in metro Phoenix. While several bakeries enjoyed strong support throughout the contest, after several days of voting and hundreds of ballots cast, Panadería La Purísima was crowned home of the best conchas for 2026, earning 45% of the total vote.
The race for the top spot was competitive from the start. Panadería Los Jarochos finished in second place with 34% of the votes, confirming its status as one of the community's favorite bakeries. Panadería La Central, located in Avondale, secured third place with 7% of the vote.
The poll featured seven beloved bakeries and cafés from across the Valley, each backed by loyal customers
and a reputation for irresistible sweet bread: Cocina Adamex, Panadería La Purísima, Cielito Rosa, Panadería La Central, Panadería Los Jarochos, La Reyna Bakery and Panadería Los Reyes.
What's the best Concha flavor?
In addition to asking readers where to find the best conchas in the Valley, we also wanted to know which flavor tops their list.
The results show that the classic still reigns supreme. Chocolate conchas claimed first place with 37% of the vote, making them the clear favorite among readers. Pink conchas, another bakery staple, followed in second place with 29% of the votes.
The results were landslides, leaving little doubt about local tastes: Panadería La Purísima makes the most beloved concha and chocolate is the community's favorite flavor.
