Maricopa County health inspectors cited a metro Phoenix restaurant for four health priority violations during the week of July 27. Violations included storing raw seafood at unsafe temperatures and selling unapproved homemade desserts.

A priority violation is a major violation that directly increases the risk of foodborne illness or injury. If listed in inspection reports, remedies implemented during the inspection are noted.

During the week of July 27, inspectors visited about 1,200 restaurants and other food-serving facilities in hospitals, senior homes and schools. About 330 restaurants received an "A" rating. See a sampling of the A-rated restaurants at the bottom of this article.

4 priority violations

Sahuaros Cahuamanta, 2526 W. Van Buren Street, Phoenix

The mobile food truck was selling homemade desserts and frozen drink mixes that were not from an approved source. The tres leches, flan and dairy-based agua fresca mixes were removed from sale and discarded.
A cutting board was not properly sanitized because the chlorine solution was too weak. The person in charge made a new sanitizer solution at the suitable concentration and properly washed, rinsed and sanitized the cutting board.
Cooked shrimp and steak were being kept too cool in the steam wells. The food was reheated to a safe temperature.
Raw shrimp, raw fish, butter, cut cabbage and shredded mozzarella were stored at unsafe temperatures in a reach-in cooler. The improperly cold-held food was discarded.
