Another day, another recall list for shoppers to be wary of while walking the grocery aisles.
This time, Arizona is part of the recall conversation, and it’s not just food you need to keep an eye on as some cosmetics are also facing recalls.
On the food side, several recalled products have been making headlines because of potential contamination and other safety concerns. So, what does this mean when you’re shopping? Don’t panic but do pay attention. Check your refrigerator, pantry and makeup bag, especially if you’ve recently purchased products included in a recall. If something matches a recalled brand, size, lot number or expiration date, don’t use it until you’ve confirmed whether it is affected.
Here are the products currently being recalled
in Arizona.
What food is recalled in Arizona right now?
Here are a few of the biggest product recalls affecting Arizona:
- Jalapeño-Containing Products (Salsa, Dips, Guacamole): Recalled by Whole Foods Market, NatureBest and Taylor Fresh Foods due to potential salmonella contamination tied to a multi-state outbreak.
- The Hampton Grocer Granola: Recalled due to potential Salmonella risk.
Besides food, Henkel Corp. announces a nationwide recall of Schwarzkopf Professional Osis Grip, a cosmetics product, due to a packaging imperfection.

Which brands of eggs are being recalled?
Midwest Poultry Services recalled approximately 1.9 million shell eggs due to potential Salmonella contamination, which the FDA classified as a high-risk Class I recall. The affected eggs were sold under the Kroger, Simple Truth, Brookshire's, Country Morning and Sunups (Cal-Maine) brands.
However, these eggs were not sold in Arizona; they were sold in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi.
The August Egg Company's brown cage-free and organic brown eggs, which were distributed to retailers and restaurants, has also been on the recall list across several states, including Arizona.
Is it safe to eat lettuce now?
You do not necessarily need to avoid all lettuce. The CDC says the specific Taylor Farms iceberg lettuce recalled on July 17 should not be eaten, but the recalled products had best-by dates that have now passed and should generally no longer be in stores or restaurants. The CDC also says that the lettuce-linked outbreak is only one of several cyclospora clusters occurring across the country.
The Arizona Department of Health Services says people in Arizona do not need to stop eating fruits and vegetables and that most produce in Arizona grocery stores is safe.
