What is the story about?
The
Phoenix Mercury wrap up their season this week.
While the WNBA will continue with the playoffs, the Mercury were eliminated in August. They will play their final games on Sept. 21 against the Wings and Sept. 24 against the Aces. Both games start at 7 p.m., with home tip-offs at Mortgage Matchup Center.
At this point, the only thing to watch is the development of the younger Mercury players. Kelsey Plum, who was acquired in a deadline trade, was shut down for the season after appearing in just five games.
Kahleah Copper (21.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg) and Alyssa Thomas (14.2 ppg, 7.7 rpb, 8.4 apg) remain the team's driving forces.
