It's officially National Sons Day.
This holiday, and its corresponding date for daughters on Sept. 25, gives parents another chance to show their adoration for their boys and encourages open and honest conversations among family.
But, didn't we already celebrate sons this year? If you feel a bit of deja vu, you're not wrong. National Sons Day was also celebrated on March 8. Why do the sons get two days?

When is National Sons Day 2026?
Depending on who you talk to, National Sons Day is on both March 4 and Sept. 28.
Why are there 2 National Sons Days?
National Sons Day was started by Jill Nico on March 4, 2018, as a way to promote healthy conversation between parents and their sons.
However, the holiday was nationally
recognized in 2018 and social media decided to declare Sept. 28 as National Son's Day as well. While most think the switch-up between the dates was because the September date is closer to National Daughters Day, The National Today Calendar only recognizes March 4 as National Son's Day.
Whether you already celebrated in March or you're celebrating your son on Sept. 28, make sure to share some kind words with your son and maybe do something fun to celebrate.

National Daughters Day is celebrated on Sept. 25.
