Walter Nolen, the Arizona Cardinals’ promising young defensive tackle, left practice on Friday, July 31, with trainers as he dealt with an apparent injury.
Nolen exited 11-on-11 drills and initially headed toward the locker room before returning to the sideline. He worked with trainers, attempting to run off the injury, but was unable to get comfortable.
The severity of the injury is not yet clear. Head coach Mike LaFleur is next set to meet with reporters on Sunday, Aug. 2.
Nolen, the 16th overall pick in 2025, is a crucial piece of the Cardinals’ defensive ambitions this season. He flashed dominant stretches as a rookie but was limited to six games by a series of injuries.
Now, he’s back in the training room.
