He’s eligible
for a max rookie extension of four years, $92.8 million.
Entering his third NBA season, the 6-11, 227-pound Ighodaro played all 82 games last regular season, averaging 6.5 points on 65.3% shooting, 5.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
The Suns guaranteed Ighodaro’s $2.29 million for the 2026-27 season earlier this summer.
A second-round pick in 2024 out of Marquette, Ighodaro is in the third year of a four-year, $7.8-million deal.
Ighodaro, who was born in Chandler and attended Desert Vista High School, is due $2.48 million next season. The Suns have a team option on him.
If Ighodaro is granted an extension, it’ll likely be for three years.
Khaman Maluach and Ighodaro have been competing in training camp for the starting center position since Mark Williams went down with a left shoulder injury and is expected to miss multiple months this season.
