Arizona motorists should prepare for heavy weekend traffic on some of the Valley's popular freeways.
The Arizona Department of Transportation announced scheduled closures on State Route 51, the Agua Fria and Santan freeways, Loop 303 and State Route 347.
With severe storms slowly making their way out of the Phoenix area, ADOT also reminded drivers: "Restriction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other factors," the agency said in a weekend traffic advisory.

Here are the scheduled closures for the weekend of Oct. 23 through Oct. 26.
Northbound State Route 51
What: Closure
When: From 9 p.m. Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Oct. 26
Where:
Between Glendale Avenue and Shea Boulevard
Why: Pavement improvement project
Detour: Take westbound Glendale Avenue to northbound Seventh Street to northbound Cave Creek Road to eastbound Cactus Road to access SR 51 north of the closure.
Notes: Northbound SR 51 on-ramps from Indian School Road to Northern Avenue closed.
Eastbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Oct. 26
Where: Between Gilbert and Williams Field roads
Why: Widening project
Detour: Drivers may use eastbound Chandler Boulevard/Williams Field Road, or eastbound Germann Road to Higley Road to connect with eastbound Loop 202 beyond the closure.
Notes: Eastbound Loop 202 on-ramps from Arizona Avenue to Val Vista Drive closed. Westbound off-ramp will be closed from 10 p.m. Oct. 23 to 9 a.m. Oct. 24. Consider using the westbound off-ramp at Dobson Road.
Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway)
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Oct. 26
Where: Off-ramp at Arizona Avenue
Why: Bridge work
Detour: Drivers may use the westbound off-ramps at McQueen or Alma School roads.
Eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway)
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Oct. 26
Where: Between 75th and 51st avenues
Why: Widening project
Detour: Use eastbound Union Hills Drive to connect with eastbound Loop 101 at 51st or 35th avenues.
Notes: Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Bell Road and Union Hills Drive closed.
Eastbound Loop 303
What: Closure
When: From 10 p.m. Oct. 23 to 5 a.m. Oct. 26
Where: Between Interstate 17 and 43rd Avenue
Why: Bridge construction
Detour: Consider using northbound 43rd Avenue to eastbound to Dove Valley Road to connect with I-17.
Northbound State Route 347
What: Narrowed to one lane
When: From 6 p.m. Oct. 23 to 8 a.m. Oct. 24
Where: Between the city of Maricopa and Casa Blanca Road
Why: Paving project
Southbound State Route 347
What: Narrowed to one lane
When: From 6 p.m. Oct. 24 to 8 a.m. Oct. 25
Where: Between the city of Maricopa and Casa Blanca Road
