A north Phoenix tissue bank is planning to lay off 90 workers, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed Aug. 17.
Pinnacle Transplant Technologies offers various types of allografts, or human tissue prepared for transplant. That includes tendons and bone for various orthopedic and sports medicine applications.
According to its website, the company sources donated tissue from various organizations around the United States to provide "safe, high-quality implants to recipients in need."
"For over a decade, Pinnacle has helped surgeons improve the lives of thousands of patients," their homepage reads.
Pinnacle could not immediately be reached for comment.
Large companies are required to notify their workers 60 days in advance
if they plan to close a facility with 50 or more workers, lay off between 50 and 499 workers, if the layoffs are at least a third of the total staff at a site, or lay off 500 or more workers at a single site.
