Phoenix Fire Department crews responded to the scene of a helicopter's hard landing, but luckily no one was injured.
At around 9:25 a.m. Sept. 3, a Bell OH-58A helicopter made a hard landing in Phoenix, carrying two pilots on board, according to a statement from Federal Aviation Administration spokesperson Crystal Essiaw.
Fire crews received the report of a downed helicopter and responded to the area near Cave Creek and Dove Valley roads around 10 a.m., Phoenix Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Todd Keller said.
When crews arrived, the firefighters found the helicopter intact on the ground and the pilots uninjured, according to Keller.
The pilots described the incident as a "hard landing" and declined any further medical evaluations, Keller said.
The FAA will be handling the investigation into the incident and will be releasing a preliminary report in the coming days, Essiaw said.
