The Phoenix Suns will have five preseason games this October, the team announced July 29.
- Oct. 5 at Detroit Pistons, 4 p.m.
- Oct. 7 at Chicago Bulls, 5 p.m.
- Oct. 10 vs. San Antonio Spurs, 7 p.m.
- Oct. 14 at San Antonio Spurs, 5 p.m.
- Oct. 17 vs Utah Jazz, 7 p.m.
The Suns are coming off a 45-win season and playoff appearance in Jordan Ott’s first year as an NBA head coach after the team missed postseason action the previous year with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.

The Suns went 2-2 against the Spurs last season, with the last matchup ending in a 101-100 loss on March 19 in San Antonio as Victor Wembanyama hit the game-winning shot with 1.1 seconds left.
The Spurs later won the Western Conference championship, reaching the 2026 NBA Finals, where they lost to the New York Knicks in five games.
Phoenix split its two games
against the Bulls and Pistons and finished 2-1 versus the Jazz last season.
The Suns have played the Pistons three times in the preseason since Mat Ishbia became team owner in February 2023. The 2026 matchup will be played at Little Caesars Arena, the Pistons' home floor.
Phoenix topped the Pistons in overtime in Detroit in a 2023 preseason game. The Suns went 1-1 against Detroit in the preseason in 2024, with the win coming at Michigan State.
Phoenix lost the second game at home to Detroit.
Ishbia is from Birmingham, Michigan. He was a walk-on on Michigan State's 2000 national championship team.
The billionaire is president and CEO of United Wholesale Mortgage in Pontiac, Michigan. He has often had the Suns take a tour of his company and spent time at his house when they play the Pistons on the road.
