A "Gilbert Goons" member charged in the gang killing of Preston Lord is due back in court for an Oct. 1 hearing where a judge will weigh whether to revoke his release conditions following his third arrest since being out on a $1 million bond.
Tempe police arrested Talyn Vigil, 20, and another man on Sept. 17 on misdemeanor reckless driving and exhibition of speed charges after officers said they witnessed the men racing motorcycles near Arizona State University. He was previously arrested in 2025 on charges of violating an order of protection and in February 2026 on a reckless driving charge involving a dirt bike.
Maricopa County Superior Court Commissioner Cindi Nannetti revoked Vigil's driving privileges during his Sept. 18 initial appearance
and imposed an additional $5,000 bond.

"It seems like when you're on a motor vehicle — doesn't go well," Nannetti said during the hearing. "And good choices are not made."
Vigil was released from jail after he posted the bond on the morning of Sept. 21, according to Sheriff's Office spokesperson Dave Moyer.
But Vigil could find himself behind bars once again should Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sam Myers decide Vigil's third arrest was one too many during an 11 a.m. hearing on Oct. 1. Myers denied a previous request to revoke Vigil's release in April, saying he did not feel Vigil was a threat to the community or that he would fail to appear in court.
Vigil's repeated arrests while out of custody denied victims of respect and dignity Maricopa County prosecutor Ryan Green argued in a motion seeking to revoke Vigil's release.
"A defendant on house arrest should not even have the opportunity to commit these many crimes, let alone any crimes, in such a short period of time," the motion stated.
It remained to be seen whether Vigil would leave the courtroom still wearing his ankle monitor — or in handcuffs.
