Years after losing United Airlines, Flagstaff Pulliam Airport has a new carrier.
Delta Air Lines recently announced plans to launch a new twice-daily, year-round route between Flagstaff and Salt Lake City in summer 2027.
The move gives Flagstaff travelers another option to connect with major airports, joining American Airlines' nonstop routes to Dallas and Phoenix. The route re-establishes connections with the mountain states, close to five years after United Airlines suspended a Flagstaff-Denver route.
Delta's Flagstaff-Salt Lake City route is part of a bigger investment the airline is making on expanded service out of Salt Lake City, which also includes recently announced nonstops to the California cities of Santa Rosa and Monterey. Salt Lake City's
airport was recently named the least stressful in the United States.
When will Delta's Flagstaff-Salt Lake City route begin?
Delta's nonstop flights between Flagstaff and Salt Lake City will begin June 7, 2027.
Flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines on a Bombardier CRJ-550 regional jet, which can seat 50 passengers. Delta's CRJ-550 jets are configured with 10 first class seats, 20 premium economy seats and 20 standard economy seats.
The new route will connect more passengers with Flagstaff's "year-round outdoor recreation, vibrant historic downtown and some of the country's best stargazing," according to Delta. It also cited Flagstaff's proximity to Sedona and Grand Canyon National Park as advantages.
How much will Delta's Flagstaff-Salt Lake City flights cost?
Flights from Flagstaff to Salt Lake City start at $189 one-way on the Delta Main Classic fare, while flights from Salt Lake City to Flagstaff start at $194 one-way.
