The Phoenix Suns open the 2026-27 regular season on the road Oct. 21 against the Portland Trail Blazers at Moda Center.
This will be Ja Morant's debut with the Blazers, who acquired the two-time All-Star point guard in a trade this summer with the Memphis Grizzlies.
The NBA announced its full 2026-27 schedule at noon MST on Aug. 13.
The Suns will play their home opener Oct. 24 against the Golden State Warriors at Mortgage Matchup Center.
Portland defeated the Suns in a Play-In Tournament game at Mortgage Matchup Center for the seventh seed in the Western Conference playoffs last season.
Phoenix responded with a home victory over the Warriors in the play-in for the eighth seed.
The Suns were a surprise team last season, winning 45 games and making
the playoffs after failing to do it the 2024-25 season with Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.
Phoenix opened its previous five seasons against the Sacramento Kings last season, at the Los Angeles Clippers in 2024-25, at the Warriors in 2023-24, versus the Dallas Mavericks in 2022-23 and against the Denver Nuggets in 2021-22.
The Suns have won their last four season openers.
Phoenix isn’t scheduled to play on Christmas for a second straight season after playing on the holiday four consecutive years from the 2021-22 season to the 2024-25 season.
The Suns went 1-3 in those games, winning the last one, 110-100, over the Nuggets at Mortgage Matchup Center.
