Two dogs are safe after being rescued from a house fire in southwest Phoenix on Sept. 20, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.
Around 9:45 p.m., firefighters were called to an area near 53rd and Southern avenues, where a house caught fire and produced heavy smoke and flames, the department said.
While battling the blaze, firefighters rescued the pair of dogs who had inhaled smoke, Phoenix Fire said in a post on X.
Fire crews resuscitated and revived the canines using what are called “Fido bags,” according to the department. The dogs were taken to an animal hospital afterward for further treatment.
Firefighters said no one else was in the home during the fire, the cause of which was still unknown.
There were no reports of injuries, according
to the department.
