The U.S. Marshal's Service is now leading the international search for a man who was suspected of killing his parents after bodies were found buried in the backyard of his family's Litchfield Park home.
Avondale police requested help from the federal law enforcement agency on Aug. 7 to find and arrest Matthew Christopher Flores Semyonov, according to a news release from the U.S. Marshal's District of Arizona.
Avondale police checked on the Flores Semyonov home on Aug. 4 after family members requested a welfare check. No one was home, but police said they found large amounts of blood inside and evidence that there were attempts to clean it. Investigators later found two decomposing bodies in the backyard.
The two bodies have yet to be publicly identified.
Flores Semyonov, 27, is believed to have left the United States. The U.S. Marshal's Service has since obtained a federal arrest warrant from the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, accusing him of fleeing the country to avoid prosecution, according to the news release.
“The U.S. Marshals Service will use every available resource, including our domestic and international law enforcement partnerships, to locate Flores Semyonov and return him to Arizona to face justice,” said U. S. Marshal Van Bayless in a statement. “Crossing international borders will not prevent us from pursuing those accused of committing violent crimes. We will remain steadfast in this search and in our commitment to securing justice for the victims and their family.”
The U.S. Marshals Service said Flores Semyonov should be considered dangerous. People should not approach him or try to catch him themselves.

The Flores Semyonov family recently said in a statement that they were devastated by what happened but were fully cooperating with law enforcement. They also asked for privacy as the investigation was ongoing.
The Avondale Police Department is still the lead agency for the disappearance and suspected deaths of Flores Semyonov’s parents, according to the U.S. Marshal's Service.
