An 18-year-old man died in a shooting outside a Casa Grande house party, police said.
Officers responded about 1:20 a.m. Sept. 20 to multiple reports of gunfire outside a home near Trekell and Rodeo roads, according to a Casa Grande Police Department statement released that morning.
Officers found Joseph Castro dead outside the home with multiple apparent gunshot wounds, police said.
Casa Grande police had not identified any suspects as of the morning statement and were investigating the death as a homicide.

Recent shootings in Casa Grande
A Sept. 14 shooting on Casa Grande Avenue outside the Casa Grande Union High School District office wounded a 10-year-old
girl, police said.
Detectives arrested two boys, ages 15 and 16, on Sept. 15 and identified both as shooters. A police update said a third suspect, Francisco Solano Jr., 18, also had been taken into custody.
In mid-August, Jacob Encinas, 37, was killed in a shooting outside a Casa Grande bar near Interstate 10 and O’Neil Drive, police said. Police later arrested Tristen Lee Alvarez, 21, on Sept. 3 in connection with the shooting.
In November 2023, 17-year-old Hailey Stephens died after she was shot at a Casa Grande house party where an altercation broke out among attendees, police said at the time.
Another high school student was injured in the shooting. Stephens was a Casa Grande Union High School student and cheerleader.
