Two industrial projects and a state-of-the-art office building are underway in the East Valley, with one to be completed in the fall.
Virgina-based EdgeConnex is building its second data center in the Valley
on a 93-acre campus in East Mesa. The company estimates it will generate 93 total jobs, according to city documents.
In Chandler, a converted office building is being reconverted back to industrial space. Building-shell manufacturer Kovach Enclosure Systems has signed a 15-year lease for the site.
In Scottsdale, Netherlands-based tech company ASM is building a state-of-the-art research and development facility for microchip materials and equipment.
Here's what East Valley residents should know about these projects.
EdgeConnex Data Center in Mesa
A 93-acre site along Hawes Road near the Loop 202 will host three data center buildings developed by Virginia-based EdgeConnex. The company purchased the site for $10.2 million in 2017.
The project will be built in four-phases.
This will be EdgeConnex second project in the Valley after it opened its first data center in 2014 at 3011 S 52nd St. in Tempe.
The construction timeline on the Mesa data center is unknown.
Chandler Freeways Business Park
Kovach Enclosure Systems is converting an old office building into an 88,000-square-foot Class-A industrial building, and adding a second building slated to be 103,000 square feet.
Kovach has been operating in Chandler since 1970 and employs 365 people.
The project is expected to be completed this fall, although an official completion date has not been announced.
ASM Scottsdale
A Dutch advanced technology manufacturer is building a new research and development facility near Loop 101 and Scottsdale Road.
ASM designs, manufactures and services equipment to fabricate semiconductors, and is looking to support the Valley's newest growing industry.
The complex will have a three-story office building, a 180,000-square-foot laboratory and a five-story parking garage.
When its complete, the site will sit between a luxury apartment complex and a new Banner Health facility.
The completion date is not known.
