The major candidates running for Secretary of State, Arizona’s top election officer, were set to square off in their final TV debate before the November midterm election.
Incumbent Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, a Democrat, is facing a challenge from Republican state Rep. Alex Kolodin.
The race has been defined by vicious attacks between the candidates and a fundamental disagreement over whether Arizona runs trustworthy elections.
The Arizona's Citizens Clean Elections Commission was set to host the debate.
The hourlong event will be livestreamed on azcentral.com.
