The Cardinals finished the 2025 season with a 3-14 record and lost their final nine games. Following the season, Jonathan Gannon was fired, and Mike LaFleur was hired as the head coach. The Cardinals also parted ways with quarterback Kyler Murray, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2019.
The Panthers were 8-9 in 2025 and won the NFC South division title. They lost to the LA Rams in the Wild Card round after making the playoffs for the first time since 2027.
