Here's what to know about the opening week of the 2026 NFL season, which features games on Wednesday, Sept. 9, Thursday, Sept. 10, Sunday, Sept. 13 and Monday, Sept. 14.
Among the games to watch in the opening week of the season are: A Super Bowl rematch, an NFC West clash in Australia, the New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams in Australia and some other high-profile games between division rivals.

When does the 2026 NFL season start?
The NFL season kicks off on Wednesday, Sept. 9, with a game between the New England
Patriots and Seattle Seahawks.
It continues on Thursday, Sept. 10, with an international matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in Australia.
There are 13 NFL games on Sunday, Sept. 13, including the Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants.
The opening week of the 2026 NFL season concludes with the Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs on Monday, Sept. 14.
