The Phoenix Suns begin training camp on Tuesday, Sept. 29 ahead of the 2026-27 season, which begins Oct. 21 on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Suns' home opener will be Oct. 24 against the Golden State Warriors.
The Suns return many key players from a 2025-26 season that surprised many, as Phoenix made the playoffs after missing out the previous season. They also add key new faces, including forward Miles Bridges, acquired in an off-season trade for Grayson Allen, Royce O'Neale and an unprotected 2033 first-round draft pick.
Also joining the Suns is Luke Kennard, one of the NBA's top 3-point shooters, and first-round draft pick Koa Peat, a Perry High grad who played college ball at Arizona.
The team experienced an early setback
when Mark Williams, the projected starting center, sustained an off-season shoulder injury that required surgery and will keep him out for much of the season. As a result, second-year 7-footer Khaman Maluach may get his opportunity to step up this season. Reliable backup big Oso Ighodaro also returns.
