Location: Ellsworth Road and East Elliot Road in southeast Mesa
Description: The Cambria Hotel in southeast Mesa is taking shape after breaking ground in January 2026. When completed, the four-story structure will have 107 rooms, a fitness center, meeting rooms, and a rooftop restaurant open to the public, according to a Facebook post by hotel operator O'Reilly Hospitality Management, LLC.
The hotel development is expected to help Mesa with the city's larger goal of developing its southeastern territory, especially the area around the Arizona Athletic Grounds and Mesa Gateway airport.
The athletic grounds contain 158 fields and courts, and host roughly 2.4 million visitors annually, according to its website.
The project is part of the larger $60
million East Gate shopping complex led by Scottsdale-based Diversified Partners LLC.

The shopping center is expected to have a Starbucks, Discount Tire Store, and Get Air Trampoline Park, according to city permitting records.
History: The hotel project has been making its way through the city of Mesa's permitting process since 2023, according to city documents.
When will the work be done? Construction is expected to wrap up in 2027, according to a city of Mesa press release.
