The Arizona Cardinals revealed their first unofficial depth chart of the preseason, and Jeremiyah Love is listed as their RB2.
That may come as little surprise after the usage during training camp, when Tyler Allgeier has taken the first snaps with the first-team offense. Plus, these unofficial depth charts are created by public relations staffers — not the coaching staff. Still, it's a notable sight after the Cardinals selected Love with the No. 3 overall pick, instantly making him the highest-paid running back in league history.
The rest of the offensive depth chart was as expected, with third-year right guard Isaiah Adams starting over second-round rookie Chase Bisontis, and free agent signing Elijah Wilkinson starting at right tackle.
The defensive
side offered more intrigue. Cody Simon, a fourth-round pick in 2025, gets the starting nod at inside linebacker next to Mack Wilson. And at safety, Andrew Wingard — a low-cost free agent signing this spring — is the starter over Dadrion Taylor-Demerson, who many assumed would take over that role following the departure of Jalen Thompson in free agency.
Four spots, meanwhile, are listed as having multiple starters, denoted by an "or." Those are as follows: Darius Robinson or Dante Stills at defensive tackle; Roy Lopez or Andrew Billings at nose tackle; Zaven Collins or Baron Browning at outside linebacker; Denzel Burke or Max Melton at outside cornerback.
The status of Robinson and Melton as competing for roster spots is noteworthy given that both players were selected inside the top 45 picks back in 2024. That class has only offered sporadic production for the Cardinals, who held more draft capital than any other organization that year.
On a similar note, 2023 second-round pick B.J. Ojulari and 2024 third-round pick Elijah Jones are listed as third-stringers at outside linebacker and cornerback, respectively. They could face an uphill battle to make the Cardinals' final roster.
