If it feels like the grocery aisle has become a game of "check before you eat," you're not imagining it. The list of food recalls seems to be growing longer, and the latest round includes products that could end up in kitchens across Arizona.
Millions of eggs have been recalled over possible salmonella contamination, while select fruit puree pouches sold nationwide have been pulled from shelves because of the potential presence of soft, food-grade plastic from a packaging defect.
While not every recall affects Arizona directly, products sold nationally can end up on store shelves across the state.
As recalls continue to make headlines, taking a few minutes to check your pantry or refrigerator could save you from more than just an inconvenient trip
back to the store.

What foods are on the recall list right now?
Here are a few of the biggest product recalls:
- Amy's Kitchen Organic Lentil Soup: Over 184,000 cans of Light in Sodium are being recalled due to a can defect causing spoilage risks.
- Fruit puree pouches: Pumpkin Tree Peter Rabbit Organics Banana & Strawberry pouches are recalled over a packaging defect risking plastic strands in the food.
- MorningStar Farms: Buffalo Chik'n Nuggets and Hot & Spicy Sausage are being recalled for potential pieces of plastic.
- Moringa capsules and powder: Zen Principle and TNVitamins recalled organic moringa products due to possible salmonella contamination.
- Pounded yam products: Recalled by Fayus Inc. (Ola-Ola brand) due to undeclared milk allergen.
- Frozen meatloaf: Power Plate Meals recalled over 5,795 pounds of frozen Meatloaf with Garlic Mashed Potatoes due to an undeclared allergen.
- Breakfast burritos: Fresh & Ready Foods recalled spicy breakfast burritos over undeclared soy.

Does egg recall affect Arizona?
The company Midwest Poultry Services has recalled over 1.7 million eggs due to salmonella concerns, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The recalled eggs were sold in Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana, Brookshire Grocery stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Mississippi, and at other smaller retail outlets, according to the recall report.
