The Phoenix Suns will have the largest exterior LED videoboard for an NBA and WNBA arena placed outside of Mortgage Matchup Center, Player 15 Group announced Aug. 18.
The Suns open the 2026-27 regular season Oct. 21 on the road against the Portland Trail Blazers. Their home opener is Oct. 24 versus the Golden State Warriors.
“We want everyone who visits Mortgage Matchup Center to have a memorable experience, and that starts the moment they arrive,” said Suns team owner Mat Ishbia in a Aug. 18 news release. “We’re creating a place where fans can come together for the biggest moments in sports and entertainment, and our new LED display gives us a powerful new platform to celebrate the Suns and Mercury, connect with our community and engage with our fans.”
Measuring 226 feet wide by 41 feet tall, the 9,266-square-foot installation will sit at the arena’s plaza entrance at First and Jefferson streets.
It’s a multi-million dollar project, a source informed The Arizona Republic on Aug. 18.
The videoboard can serve as a centerpiece for watch parties as NBA teams have had them over the years.
The transparent mesh LED display will enable natural light into the pavilion as it is integrated behind glass paneling. The side panels can function independently or combine with the center display a massive visual experience. It will have more than 17 million pixels and a 60 frames-per-second refresh rate.
