Chandler Basha and Gilbert high school flag football teams saw the biggest jump from the previous week after being on the bubble to start the 2026 Arizona high school season, as the dust continues to settle in the second week and hierarchies begin to form.

The Republic's Top 10 Arizona high school flag football teams
1. Gilbert Highland (3-0)
After cracking the top 10 in USA TODAY’s national rankings for the first time this season at No. 9, Highland routed Tolleson 63-0 and then easily beat a very talented Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor team 55-13.
2. Gilbert Campo
Verde (2-1)
Just one game for Campo Verde last week, but it was a resounding 48-0 win over Scottsdale Desert Mountain.
3. Glendale Mountain Ridge (3-0)
Beat Phoenix Desert Vista 28-7. Has two huge games coming up against No. 1 Highland and O’Connor this week.
4. Chandler Basha (4-0)
Climbed up the rankings after shutout wins over Mesa Red Mountain (27-0) and Mesa (23-0). Has a week off before returning to play against Goodyear Millennium and No. 7 Peoria Liberty.
5. Gilbert (2-1)
Picked up a 27-7 statement win over No. 6 Tempe Corona del Sol, with the defense turning in a dominant effort.
6. Tempe Corona del Sol (4-1)
The team is trying to stay afloat until sophomore quarterback Victoria Beakes becomes eligible, which is coming soon on Oct. 1.
7. Peoria Liberty (3-0)
Ended a 40-game win streak for No. 8 Chandler Hamilton. Liberty continues to stack wins awaiting the arrival of record-breaking quarterback Marlie Phillips.
8. Chandler Hamilton (2-2)
Injuries are starting to pile up for Hamilton with its quarterback and center out. But the wide receiver room is about to get a boost when some key transfers become eligible.
9. Marana (3-1)
Responded to the O’Connor loss with two shutout wins. Beat Mesa Mountain View 28-0 and Marana Mountain View 42-0.
10. Tucson Salpointe Catholic (3-0)
Breezed past Sierra Vista Buena 45-0. The defense has still yet to give up a point in a game.
On the bubble: Phoenix Pinnacle, Phoenix Sandra Day O’Connor, Anthem Boulder Creek, Prescott, Queen Creek, Queen Creek Casteel, Chandler, Casa Grande, Gilbert Mesquite, Scottsdale Christian Academy.
