In 2026, grocery stores have boomed across the Valley.
Big names include Buc-ee's and Seafood City and chains that include Trader Joe's and Aldi. Now, Arizona residents can expect another chain, which originated
in Chandler, to open more locations in the state and across the country.
Sprouts Farmers Market plans to open four new stores in the Grand Canyon State before the end of 2026. Sprouts was founded in 2002 by members of the Boney family. The Boney family got into the grocery store business after Henry Boney opened a fresh fruit stand in San Diego in 1943. This led to open-air farmers markets, community grocery stores and the Sprouts Farmers Market that people know now.
The chain, headquartered in Phoenix, also plans to open 20 additional locations in the United States in the remaining months of 2026. These include stores in California, New York, Texas and Georgia.
