Description: A swim school founded by an Olympian and an Olympic coach is expanding to the West Valley.
Chandler-based Gold Medal Swim School is coming to Surprise and will offer swim lessons for people of all ages.
The company says it has a kid-friendly environment and "Water so clean, you could drink it!" The school also offers easy-to-schedule make-up lessons, free unlimited swim time, low class ratios, underwater teaching and insight into Olympic techniques.
Two-time gold medalist Mike Troy and two-time Olympic coach Mike Walker founded the school. Troy died in 2019.
History: The land was previously vacant. M Squared-Surprise LLC bought the land in March 2025 for $1.95 million. The mailing
address tied to the buyer traces back to Gold Medal Swim School's Chandler location.
When will the work be done? Fall 2026, according to a sign posted near the construction site.
