If you bought pork products between 2014 and 2018, you could be owed some money from a lawsuit involving several pork producers.
According to the terms of a $117 million class action settlement, people who purchased pork products in the United States between June 28, 2014, and June 30, 2018 may qualify for a portion of the settlement.
The lawsuit alleges the pork processors, including Agri Stats, Clemens, Hormel, Seaboard, Triumph, Tyson and Smithfield, among others, conspired to limit the supply of pork and increase prices in the market.
The companies denied all allegations of wrongdoing, and the court has not ruled that they did anything wrong, but agreed to resolve the legal claims against them through payouts and reforms to business practices,
according to the settlement website.

When is the deadline to make a claim in the settlement?
Anyone wishing to claim part of the settlement has until Oct. 29, 2026, to do so. Consumers canstart filing a claim here.
Who is eligible for the cash payment?
Consumers who indirectly purchased raw pork bacon or fresh or frozen pork made from bellies, loins, shoulders, ribs or pork chops from one of the companies may be eligible for a cash payment. "Indirectly purchased" means you did not buy the products directly from the companies, but rather at a grocery store.
The settlement includes consumers in Arizona and 23 more states.
How much is the cash payment?
According to the settlement website, it is unknown how much each class member will receive. Payments will be based on a number of factors, including the number of "timely and valid" claim forms filed by members of the settlement class.
