Description: A bowling and restaurant project is beginning construction in Gilbert’s Heritage District led by O.H.S.O. Brewery and Distillery owners.
Developers are repurposing an office building that currently stands at the less than half-acre site located to the north of its downtown Gilbert location.
In planning documents, developers wrote it would be a “fusion of a classic recreation activity, duck pin bowling, with a contemporary restaurant and social space.”
The building’s design will pay “homage to its surroundings while introducing a fresh and engaging twist,” the documents stated.
“As visitors step through its doors, they are transported through time, where nostalgia converges
with cutting-edge recreation, enriching the way they experience togetherness, entertainment, and community within the town's beating heart,” according to the planning document.
The duckpin bowling lanes will be smaller and not require special shoes, which developers stated will make it “cost effective” for families.
The venue will feature six duckpin bowling lanes, a full-service bar, and an entirely new food and beverage program, according to the developers.
The formal name of the development will be announced in the future.
History of Site: The site has an office building that was built in 1993, according to Vizzda, a real estate database.
When will work be done? The bowling and restaurant development is expected to open in spring 2027, according to a company report.
