Hai Noon in Scottsdale closed after four years.
The restaurant was a collaboration between Sloane McFarland and Ian Rosales, owners of Welcome Diner, and James Beard Award-winning chef Nobuo Fukuda, who previously ran the now-closed Nobuo at Teeter House.
The restaurant opened in 2023 inside Sonder the Mariposa in Scottsdale, serving a menu that combined Japanese food with American Southwestern cuisine.
In February 2026, the restaurant was listed in a Food and Wine roundup of restaurants that make Scottsdale a dining destination.
The closing announcement was made on the restaurant's Instagram page in September: "Thank you to our wonderful guests. We appreciate your continued support. As of this week, we will no longer have our normal service hours,
however, please stay tuned for future updates, events and collaborations. Kanpai!"
The Republic reached out to the owners about why the restaurant closed, but had not received a response at the time of writing.
