A 36-year-old man was killed, and a 17-year-old girl was injured in a shooting at a Buckeye home.
Buckeye Police were called to a home near Sienna Hills Parkway and McDowell Road at about 1 a.m. Aug. 27 after gunshots were reported. A Buckeye sergeant who had just ended her shift was in the area when the call came and detained the suspect, 22-year-old Jesus Lastra Perez, according to police.
Inside the home, police found the teen girl with gunshot wounds and the man dead after the shooting. He was identified as David Washington. The girl was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, all parties involved live in the home, and Perez is the son of Washington’s ex-wife. The shooting followed an argument.
