Two neighboring landmarks with a shared history now share an owner.
Wrigley Mansion, built in 1931 by chewing gum magnate William Wrigley Jr. as an anniversary gift for his wife, Ada, followed Wrigley helping establish the Arizona Biltmore, one of the resorts that helped usher in metro Phoenix's tourism industry.
Staff at both landmarks announced that the Biltmore's owner has now purchased Wrigley Mansion, saying their reunion is inspired by a "shared vision for exceptional hospitality, dining and experiences."
“There are very few opportunities in hospitality to bring two landmarks together that have been connected to one another from the very beginning,” Michael Hoffmann, vice president and managing director of Arizona Biltmore, said in a statement.
“Wrigley Mansion and Arizona Biltmore share a remarkable history, but what excites us most is the opportunity to create a new chapter for both — one that honors what makes each property special while introducing new experiences for guests today.”
Who owns Wrigley Mansion?
Henderson Park, a private equity real estate management firm in London that was founded in 2016, is the new owner of Wrigley Mansion. The mansion, which houses fine dining restaurants and is a venue for weddings and special events, sold for $17 million.
Henderson Park has owned the Arizona Biltmore since 2024. It purchased the historic resort for $705 million from BRE Hotels & Resorts, operated by Blackstone Real Estate Group, the world's largest private real estate equity firm.
Who sold Wrigley Mansion?
Jamie Hormel sold the Wrigley Mansion after 34 years of ownership.
She and her late husband, Geordie, the heir to Hormel Foods, bought the mansion in 1992. By that time, it had been out of the hands of the Wrigley family for close to two decades and Phoenix was planning to demolish it to build condos.
After saving the Wrigley Mansion from demolition, the Hormels led a restoration of the property and opened the fine dining restaurant Geordie's and the wine bar Jamie's.
In 2018, James Beard Award-winning chef Christopher Gross revitalized Geordie's after closing his Biltmore Fashion Park restaurant. Three years later he opened Christopher's at Wrigley Mansion, a highly acclaimed restaurant that recently was one of the first Arizona restaurants recommended by the Michelin Guide.
What does Biltmore, Wrigley Mansion ownership mean for guests?
Both the Biltmore and Wrigley Mansion are now not only under the same ownership, but also the same management. Pyramid Global Hospitality will oversee operations at both properties.
“Wrigley Mansion is a one-of-a-kind property where history, hospitality and excellence come together in a remarkable way,” Pyramid CEO Warren Fields said. “We are ready to work alongside the talented associates who have built its reputation as one of Arizona’s premier dining and event destinations. We look forward to supporting the next chapter of the Mansion’s success while creating long-term value for our partners.”
Biltmore staff said the addition of Wrigley Mansion to the Biltmore "brings a new depth to the resort experience" with the mansion adding to the resort's "storied legacy" and Michelin-recognized dining now part of its culinary landscape.
